Setiap lagu memiliki makna yang berbeda-beda. Hal tersebut saya sadari setelah saya mulai memperhatikan setiap lirik dari lagu yang saya suka. Saya juga menyadari bahwa terdapat lagu yang menggunakan lirik yang biasa namun memiliki makna yang dalam, ada juga lagu yang maknanya dapat diaplikasikan pada beberapa keadaan, dan masih banyak lagi. Salah satu lagu yang saya suka dengarkan akhir-akhir ini adalah lagu dari salah satu penyanyi terkenal bernama Michael Jackson yang berjudul "Man In The Mirror".Jujur saja, saya tidak terlalu mengidolakan MJ, bahkan boleh dikatakan saya hanya mendengar beberapa lagunya. Saya juga tidak terlalu mengetahui biografi beliau sehingga dalam tulisan ini, saya tidak akan menjelaskan sosok MJ. Selain itu, saya juga tidak akan menjelaskan proses menulis lagu "Man In The Mirror". Yang akan saya lakukan dalam tulisan ini adalah bagaimana pendapat awal atau pandangan awal saya ketika menikmati lirik dari lagu ini. Saya sangat tertarik karena liriknya mengandung sebuah hal yang penting. Sesuatu yang dapat mengajak semua sekaligus menyadarkan semua orang untuk menciptakan sebuah perubahan. Setiap orang mungkin pernah membuat sebuah perubahan, berkeinginan untuk menciptakan kehidupan yang lebih baik lagi. Keadaan bumi sekarang tidak dapat lagi digambarkan sebagai suasana yang tenang. Berbagai masalah terjadi, konflik, hingga perseteruanterus menerus terjadi. Sehingga mungkin, beberapa orang mau membuat sebuah perubahan, perbedaan yang baik. Penulis lagu ini juga mungkin merasakan hal yang sama. Ia ingin membuat sebuah perubahan agar kehidupan ini menjadi lebih baik. Namun, intinya bukanlah pada bait itu. Saya berpikir bahwa hal tersebut hanya ingin menyadarkan pendengar atau pembaca, atau mungkin bait itu hanya ingin mengemukakan bagaimana hati dan keinginan si penulis. Semua orang tentu ingin membuat sebuah perubahan. Namun, masih banyak orang yang bingung bagaimana cara membuat sebuah perubahan. Terkadang banyak orang yang hendak membuat perubahan, namun ia tidak tahu bagaimana caranya. Salah satu alasan yang membuat ia tidak tahu adalah karena mungkin ia belum melihat ke dalam dirinya. Banyak orang yang masih belum mengenal dirinya sendiri, belum mengenal kelebihan dan kekurangan, belum tahu apa hobi dan kesenangan dan apa kebutuhan mereka. Itulah salah satu penyebabnya. Untuk itu, untuk melakukan sebuah perubahan, sejenak kita perlu melihat diri kita sendiri terlebih perlu waktu untuk mengenal diri kita sendiri.
